Gestamp is a major automotive manufacturing plant in Llanelli, producing pressed and welded metal components for the global automotive industry. Trust Scaffolding was contracted to install 400 metres of edge protection at the facility — one of our largest edge protection contracts to date.
Industrial edge protection at a manufacturing plant operates under different constraints to typical construction sites. The plant was operational throughout the works, meaning our team had to coordinate with factory management to ensure the edge protection installation did not interfere with production schedules or logistics operations.
The 400-metre scope required efficient planning and execution. Our team pre-fabricated components where possible and worked to a structured programme to minimise time on the factory floor. All work was completed to the site's stringent health and safety requirements, with method statements and risk assessments approved by the plant's safety team before work commenced.
The Gestamp project demonstrated our capability for large-scale industrial edge protection — a service that is increasingly in demand as manufacturers and industrial operators upgrade their facilities and comply with evolving safety regulations.
